200,000 visitors are expected
“In terms of surface area, it is fully comparable to the pre-Covid versions, with three halls and the return of the historic stands that we were not able to do last year,” said Nicolas Vignolles, general delegate of Leisure Software Publishers. The union is the organizer of the demonstration.
While at least “around 200,000 visitors” were expected in this edition of the fair, which brought together 150,000 visitors last year, participation before 2020 was around 300,000.
“Our ambition is not necessarily all-out gigantic. “Video game publishers and manufacturers no longer set quantitative targets for events, but instead a successful experience,” insists Nicolas Vignolles. Major publishers such as Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Capcom or Square Enix, as well as the three major console manufacturers (Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo) will also be there.
Test new things
While Paris Games Week may not be the place for major announcements of new games, the show remains important for French “gamers” who have the opportunity to test the year’s latest new releases in “real life” for the first time. Among the most anticipated games: “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth”, the second part of the remake of the famous role-playing game of the 1990s, the fighting game “Tekken 8” and even the release of “Prince of Persia The Lost Crown” planned for January-February 2024.
In a sign of the growing strength of esports in this edition, the main stage has increased from 800 to 1,800, including the national finals of video game competitions.
